I consider myself a teacher.
I really do.
I spent ONE YEAR teaching (substitute teaching, actually) for K-8 graders. Still, it counts!
Now, I spent an hour the other day teaching people about instance healing in HoR. We get all snuggly in our corner, waiting for the 1st wave of mobs to appear, but then . . . the melee dps runs out from the corner to 'pick up the trash'. He's ret pallie - so survivability is high. He's also good dps. BUT - the second I come out from my corner to heal his dumb ass the rest of the mobs sniff my clothie healer aggro and I turn into the proverbial pigeon in the propellor. Pfft! All feathers and pigeon guts. So, instead of doing that, I stood next to my tank and healed HIM.
We wipe anyway, and I explain the old WoW adage: if the healer dies, it's the tanks fault - if the tank dies, it's the healers fault . . . if anybody else dies? it's their own damn fault! I added that I will not leave the tank to chase a dps-er who is running out of line of sight. That would be what we in the healing industry call, "A Bad Idea".
